PADUCAH — In 35 previous meetings, Paducah Tilghman had never beaten McCracken County in softball. Tuesday night at Brooks Stadium, the Lady Tornadoes finally did.

Sophomore Adrienne Romain pitched a complete game and Alyssa Knight delivered a two-run home run as Tilghman defeated McCracken County 11–6, ending a streak that had defined the First Region rivalry for years.

"These kids are kind of resilient," Tilghman head coach Mikey Myers said after the win. "They just keep wanting to be there and they keep knocking on the door."

Knight's homer — which cleared the fence in the fourth inning and brought the crowd to its feet — broke the game open after Tilghman had already built an early advantage. Eighth-grader Baylee McMinn added a triple that her coach celebrated effusively from the dugout. Sophie Key, Zoe Burch, Kate Wade, and Camrynn McMinn all contributed in the lineup as the Lady Tornadoes kept the pressure on throughout.

Romain allowed 10 hits and struck out three while walking four, but consistently worked out of trouble when McCracken County threatened to rally. McCracken's Layton Owens had a strong night at the plate but the Lady Mustangs could not produce the timely hit they needed.

For Tilghman, it was a landmark moment in a program that has been building steadily under Myers. For McCracken County, it snapped one of the most dominant head-to-head streaks in the region.

The teams are expected to meet again in the First Region Tournament later this spring.
